How to install PHP

Hello again :p
As I said yesterday, I will now teach you how to install PHP on your computer in a very very easy way. After my tutorial, you'll have everything you need to start writing your PHP docs, sites, whatever... So, let's start!

Tutorial on How to install PHP in your computer:

Step 1

- Go to google.com and search the keyword "xampp".

- Enter the first search result site: apache friends.

- Scroll down and select "XAMPP for Windows".
(if you have a different operating system, don't be shy, go for it! x) if you have linux select "XAMPP for linux" and so on...)

- Scroll down again and download the executable file (the installer).

Step 2

Now that we're done with that, install the program you downloaded.
Note: let it install in C:/

After installing, open the XAMPP control panel.
It should look something like this:

Do you have this? Cool!! Because you must have this after my whole explanation..
Now, push the start button right to the word Apache.
Now you should have something like this:

Great. And now we are done with that. You may close that window because it won't really close the XAMPP. It will minimize it to an icon next to the clock and the other icons. Just like it is shown below. To make the window appear again, double-click the XAMPP control panel icon.

Step 3

You will now write a very simple PHP file to make sure everything's working.

Open a new notepad document. Type this:

<?php

echo "testing...";

?>

Stop typing! Copy only the red text to the notepad.
Now that you finished, go ahead and save the file to this location:
file:///C:/xampp/htdocs/

This is the correct location to save the .php files if you didn't change the XAMPP destination folder during the installation.

do not save it with the .txt extension. Save it with "xxx.php". If you have saved it as a .txt file already, go hurry and change it.

Note: If you don't have Mozilla Firefox installed in your computer install it. It's easy, just google it. For those who have no idea what that is, I think it would be better to quit this tutorial and go do something else. Mozilla Firefox is an internet browser just like Internet Explorer, Safari, Google Chrome or Opera.

Open Mozilla and type in the address bar:

http://localhost/xxxxx.php

Note: xxx stands for the name you gave to the file. Replace the xxx for the name you saved it with.

And that's it. If you did everything I told you correctly, you browser should now display what you wrote in the .php file. In this case, we wrote "testing..." and it should appear in your browser just like so:

Note: I wrote a different text instead of "testing.."

So, that's the end of the tutorial. I hope this helped and hey! Now you can start programming you php files and other things!

Windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error while attempting to install it.

Windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error while attempting to install it.

I have had this message from Windows and it's really, really, really annoying... And after spending a week or more trying to solve this, I came to a solution that I want to share with all of you.

Here's the solution for the ones who might have this problem:
This worked for me in Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit!
You must have all administrator privileges!

1- Open Windows Explorer

2- Go to C:/Windows/System32/DriverStore

You will have a couple of folders and files.
You will have *.dat files and other file named: infcache.1

3- Right click every file (dont touch the folders!) and choose properties.

4- go to security tab

5- click Edit

6- choose your account and check the box: full control (see screenshot)

7- Click ok.

8- Repeat to every file

9- Select all the files (*.dat and infcache.1)

10- Press shift+del

11- Press OK.

12- Now, go to C:Windows/System32/Driver Store/File Repository/

13- Search for folder named usbstor.inf

14- Open it (if you have more than one, choose the most recent)

15- Copy "usbstor.inf" and "usbstor.PNF"

16- Paste those two files to C:/Windows/inf

17- Reboot your pc and voilla! :b

If Windows doesnt install them automatically go to device manager, uninstall all unknown devices and the ones with the yellow exclamation mark, then click in "check to see if there is any hardware changes"

Now, Windows will install all your hardware successfully :b

Make sure you also go to Control Panel => Device Manager => Validity Sensor

UNINSTALL the sensor and check "delete the driver software for this device"

http://d11tvxmfjhi64o.cloudfront.net/X64/Setup.exe

When it asks to install driver for finger print reader (the first dialog you get when you run the setup.exe)

DO NOT click INSTALL

Leave the installation window as it is...

7) Open windows explorer by pressing win+E

You will have a folder with {05B54AFA-28C6-4FED-A0E6-3F235641DA1D } <==== EXAMPLE only it will be different on your computer

Go in the folder and you will see some ini files with a file named "fingerprint reader drivers.prq"

open "fingerprint reader drivers.prq" in notepad.exe

Delete all the lines of text in the file "fingerprint reader drivers.prq" and save the empty file.

9) return to Digital Persona setup dialog mentioned in point 6

How to write a review

Hello everyone!

While
I was searching for a guide on how to write a review, I realised the guides posted on the web are too confusing, professional and sometimes hard to understand. So I decided to do my own "How to write a review" for everyone who needs help writing one (whether it is for fun, profit, or school work). Here we go:

"How to write a review"
  • Do not forget to give the title of the film/book of which you write the review.
  • Summarize the plot of the film/book. Remember to use the Present Simple!
  • No spoilers. This means that you should reveal only the basic plot of a novel or movie, without giving away the entire story.
  • Try to incorporate humour into your review.
  • Focus on evaluation and recommendation. If you include both positive and negative points, try to keep proper ballance between them.
  • If the movie contains well-known actors, as most do, detail who is starring in the movie and how well you think they acted.

And that's it! Hope this helped! :D
Thanks: Sandra Albuquerque.

iPod recognized as a camera

Does your computer recognize your iPod touch as a camera?
Do you want to solve this?
In this post I'll try to help.

1. On the Start menu, click Run.
2. In the Open field, type "devmgmt.msc". Click OK. A list of devices will be displayed.
3. Apple iPod will be listed under "Imaging Devices". Click on it.
4. Right click. Choose “Update Driver”.
5. The Hardware Update wizard will pop-up; select “No, not this time”.
6. Select “Install from a list or specific location (Advanced)”.
7. Select “Don’t search. I will choose the driver to install”.
8. A long list of devices will appear. Select “Universal Serial Bus Controllers”.
9. Select “Apple Mobile Device USB Driver". Windows will give you a warning that the driver is not digitally signed (since it is from Apple and not Microsoft), but that is okay.
10. Another warning box will pop up that the driver has not passed windows Logo testing. Select “Continue anyway”.
11. File Needed window pops up to find the driver file “Usbaapl.sys”. Browse to find the location of this file: "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers".
12. Click Finish.

That's it. Now your iPod should be recognized by your computer properly.
Hope it helped. See you! :D
